The Epstein Virus That is Eating Trump’s GOP
The Epstein Virus That is Eating Trump’s GOP
“You believe that’s why we’re not getting this full release that you’ve been demanding, is because there are so many high-level donors that might be connected to the Republican Party, or to both parties, that they want to protect?”
Newsmax Steve Schmitt to Rep, Thomas Massie (R-KY) “Yeah. That’s a big part of it.” Massie replied.
"This is a Democrat hoax that never ends… From what I understand, I could check, but from what I understand, thousands of pages of documents have been given. But it's really a Democrat hoax because they're trying to get people to talk about something that's totally irrelevant to the success that we've had as a nation since I've been president."
Donald Trump to Reporters in the Oval Office, September 3rd.
“Helping Thomas Massie and Liberal Democrats with their attention-seeking, while the DOJ is fully supporting a more comprehensive file release effort from the Oversight Committee, would be viewed as a very hostile act to the administration.”
White House official to CNN on September 3rd.
“The now dying ... Epstein case was only brought back to life by the Radical Left Democrats because they are doing so poorly, with the lowest poll numbers in the history of the Party ... while the Republicans are doing so well, among the highest approval numbers the Party has ever had.”
Donald Trump, September 4th. Seriously?
“What Trump is referring to is the hoax that the Democrats are using to try to attack him. He has never said or suggested or implied—I’ve talked to him about this many times, many times. He is horrified. It’s been misrepresented. He’s not saying that what Epstein did is a hoax. It’s a terrible, unspeakable evil. He believes that himself. When he first heard the rumor, he kicked him out of Mar-a-Lago. He was an FBI informant to try to take this stuff down.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R/LA)
“Oh, I got a lot of pushback. I got phone call after phone call last night… They didn’t want me to sign the discharge petition [to move to a floor vote the release of all Epstein documents]. They want to focus on the oversight investigation.… Any president is insulated and in a cone of information based on the people that work directly with him, and I don’t think they’ve informed him on what a big deal this really is.”
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R/GA), September 4th.
Donald Trump was an FBI informant on the Epstein sex scandal, and I am the Easter Bunny. Trump has noted that he hung around with Epstein, that Epstein was particularly fond of younger women and the evidence that they partied together is amply documented with lots of photographs. While I doubt Trump himself engaged in direct sexual contact with legally underaged women, not only was he aware of what was going on, but Trump undoubtedly opened doors to Epstein to high profile men who became part of Epstein’s world of sex trafficking minor girls. At this juncture, there is zero doubt that AG Pam Bondi, who sees herself as Trump’s loyal personal attorney, is Trump’s cover-up administrator in chief of the entire Epstein scandal.
That this scandal is Trump’s Achilles Heel with his MAGA base is what creates an exceptional level of political toxicity for Trump and his political cronies, who built their political platform on the bona fides of rampant pedophilia among highly placed Democrats in Washington… the veritable “deep state” Trump ran against. Back in 2016, an event at a pizza parlor in the capital, illustrates how an inane QAnon conspiracy almost exploded the fallacy.
Writing for the November 16, 2017 Rolling Stone, Amanda Robb summarizes: “The revelations overcame Edgar Maddison Welch like a hallucinatory fever. On December 1st, 2016, the father of two from Salisbury, North Carolina, a man whose pastimes included playing Pictionary with his family, tried to persuade two friends to join a rescue mission. Alex Jones, the Info-Wars host, was reporting that Hillary Clinton was sexually abusing children in satanic rituals a few hundred miles north, in the basement of a Washington, D.C., pizza restaurant. Welch told his friends the ‘raid’ on a ‘pedo ring’ might require them to “sacrifice the lives of a few for the lives of many.” A friend texted, ‘Sounds like we’re freeing some oppressed pizza from the hands of an evil pizza joint.’ Welch was undeterred. Three days later, armed with an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle, a .38 handgun and a folding knife, he strolled into the restaurant and headed toward the back, where children were playing ping-pong. As waitstaff went table to table, whispering to customers to get out, Welch maneuvered into the restaurant’s kitchen. He shot open a lock and found cooking supplies. He whipped open another door and found an employee bringing in fresh pizza dough. Welch did not find any captive children – Comet Ping Pong does not even have a basement – but he did prove, if there were any lingering doubts after the election, that fake news has real consequences.”
But that pedophile “deep state” remained a continuing chorus in both of Trump’s presidential campaigns. Yet if that pedophilic deep state were actually in Trump-world, the worm turned for Trump. After swearing how powerful that deep state was, that he was the one to take it down, that instead he knew about a real sexually depraved network which included many of his buddies, covered it up after promising to unveil all its secrets and open those files to his base, well, his “there’s nothing to see here.” [and] “Pam Bondi has released all the relevant files anyway” fell on profoundly skeptical ears of a very large core of his MAGA followers, as the above quote from Trump camp follower, Georgia Congresswoman, Majorie Taylor Greene suggests. Trump was waking up to the reality that his entire political credibility could vaporize as facts were revealed.
So far, between the redactions and the sparsity of document release (less than 1% of known documents have been released to the public) and the DOJ’s proclivity of issuing documents referring almost exclusively to publicly available information about the Epstein scandal, that the Associate AG has a “discussion” with convicted pedophile and Epstein primacy accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, after which she was transferred to a “comfortable” federal prison where sexual predators have never been permitted… illustrates the depth of the cover-up.
“The House Oversight Committee has released more than 33,000 files related to the late convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein that it received from the Justice Department. However, Tuesday’s [9/2] release of flight logs, court filings, jail surveillance footage, redacted records, depositions and memos may not represent the totality of the Epstein-related documents in the DOJ’s possession, and congressional Democrats have said they largely included previously known information. ‘After careful review, Oversight Democrats have found that 97% of the documents received from the Department of Justice were already public,’ Rep. Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said in a statement. ‘There is no mention of any client list or anything that improves transparency or justice for victims.’ As the panel readied the files’ release, GOP Rep. Thomas Massie pushed forward with his bill to compel the publication of the Epstein files in full. “ CNN, September 3rd. House Speaker Johnson’s summer postponement of House bills, did not, as hoped, render the Epstein debacle “yesterday’s news.” They’re baaack!
After a major rally of Epstein victims on the steps of the Capitol, “Trump’s reaction has drawn condemnation from Epstein’s victims and their families, many of whom rallied for transparency at the Capitol on Wednesday [9/3] at the same time Trump was dismissing the entire matter as a ‘hoax.’.. Sky Roberts, the brother of the late Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre, told The Independent that Trump’s administration was now running likely ... biggest cover-up in the history of the United States…. And I think it's time for us to stand with the people, it's time to stand with the survivors, and we need to tell them we believe you.’” The Independent, September 5th. A large group of Epstein’s victims stated that if the government would not release the relevant participants in Epstein’s network, they would put together their own “client list,” which Ms Greene suggested she might read into the Congressional Record.
I’m Peter Dekom, and it is amazing that Trump’s failed policies, the horrible jobs reports, the rising prices everywhere, his dictatorial use of military troops over domestic cities where crime is otherwise falling and his never-ending grift and self-aggrandizement did not seem to bother his MAGA base… but the Epstein sex scandal could take him down without much more.
