What Does A MAGA America Really Look Like?

Let’s look at what clear values have been set by MAGA leaders, based on Project 2025, new restrictive laws and mandates (state and federal), cultural mandates and religious legitimacy. Some these issues are now determined, though not always clear, like the relegation of abortion laws to the states… as the battle of whether anti-abortion states can follow their residents’ activities to other states continues. Others are in process, but here are what I perceive are the overriding MGA vectors.

Religion: white Christian nationalism dictated by evangelical biblical interpretation, to be America’s official faith. For example, the mandate in most Texas public school districts is the placement of a copy of the Ten Commandments in every classroom, a version that does not comply with the Jewish version of those rules as set forth in the Torah. Parents can object to classroom lessons that suggest other than their view of Christian teachings. Public school funding must be equally accorded to faith-based schools. While others may practice other faiths, Christianity is the national religious lodestone. Pastors can politicize without losing non-profit tax exemption.

Health: the “science” of empirical experts is suspect as compiled by out-of-touch elites. “Science” as contained in widely accepted conspiracy theories is the only valid reference point. That COVID is returning with a vengeance, measles is back with the fastest growth rate in three decades, polio is sneaking back and most efforts to fund government research, so successful in the past, are being curtailed to stop viable potential cures… and any statistics to the contrary are considered false narratives. After decimating the CDC and appointing antivaxxers to major advisory boards, RFK, Jr. has risen to the level of a MAGA folk hero to the point where the President cannot fire him no matter the negative/fatal impact his policies have caused… or risk alienating his MAGA base. Senior Trump advisor Stephen Miller summarizes: “[RFK Jr] is working hard to restore the credibility and the integrity of [the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] as a scientific organization committed to the scientific method, and getting to the root causes of the public health epidemic in this country.” Morbidity rates from preventable diseases are rising, life expectancy is falling, and formerly required school vaccinations have so many exemptions that classrooms are becoming superspreader venues.

Culture: Museum cultural exhibits that present negative historical events, art and music that is not traditional, markers of the Confederacy that have been removed, books that offend religious conservatives and new government buildings that do not embrace Greek neoclassical design are “woke” practices that must end. “He is authentic all the way, but he’s also, I think, taking control of these areas that used to belong to the left… The arts and sports and entertainment and media and tech and culture. And look at what he’s doing at the Kennedy Center. Look what he’s doing at universities. Look at what he’s doing with sports. So, it’s super exciting.” MAGA pundit, Kellyanne Conway, on the President’s cultural initiatives.

Foreign Policy: America does not need any other nation. America First, which has powered bully tariffs (now rejected by the courts), defunded American soft power via foreign aid, banned anything that criticizes Israel and its Gaza policies and is supportive of Presidentially favored autocracies (from Putin’s Russia to Orbán’s Hungary). Vladimir Putin seems to relish making a fool of both the President and the United States. That former allies (like mega-populated India) and Western Europe are increasingly turning to China in reaction remains incomprehensible to those who still believe the United States can force lesser states to comply with its wishes. The United States hasn’t been this isolated in well over a century. Just hope your income does not depend on foreign tourism. As genocidal enforced starvation and continued shelling by Israel against a hapless Palestinian population in Gaza, the MAGA administration remains one of the few countries on Earth to continue supporting these policies, even continuing to send more weapons to Netayahu’s regime to continue that assault against unarmed civilians.

Elections: The ends justifies the means. Rigging elections to push woke liberal Democrats permanently out of power is acceptable, and any swing city/state election that MAGA loses is to be discounted as illegally rigged and reversed. Full and fair elections are no longer relevant as we transition to a MAGA future.

Immigration & crime: From focusing on deporting undocumented criminals to an indiscriminate quota system the pays hard dollar bonuses to ICE agents based on numbers of arrests without reference to criminality. That undocumented US residents perpetrate disproportionately lower criminal activity than US-born citizens falls between the cracks. Billions for what has become the President’s private police force, able to operate wearing masks, without warrants and often without any discernible identification. No one likes crime or criminals, but Homeland Security takes the President’s statement that the United States has been invaded by undocumented criminals, sending militarily backed ICE troops “coincidentally” only into blue cities with Black mayors showing falling crime rates. Cruelty against the undocumented is A-OK. As we slowly devolve into a MAGA-supported police state. MAGA rags on blue state crime while encouraging lax measures on gun control… until the point that the United States is the nation with the largest number of gun homicides of any country not at war… where bullets are the leading cause of death among children and teens.

Wealth and Taxation: The underproductive poor are the losers of society so that the mega-wealthy, the clear winners, can avoid taxation and expand their scalable businesses further to expand that wealth gap, the worst in the Western world. Laws that hold businesses responsible for environmental and financial crimes must not be enforced.

Climate change: a hoax that does not exist.

I can add the rampant legitimization of racial, religious bias – evidenced by increasing hate crimes – pardons of violent criminals, and the apparent suborning of pedophilia evidenced by the government’s coverup of the Epstein files (which, oddly, even MAGA voters question) – but we are no longer a nation “of laws,” the executive branch dominates Congress and the federal judicial system, our system of checks and balances that made us the greatest nation on Earth is crumbling and our economy is beginning to crack at the seams.
