Fail, Fail, Fail, Win?
Fail, Fail, Fail, Win?
“If we’re indicting people because the president hates them, that’s counter to the whole point of doing my job.”
Mike Romano, resigned prosecutor in the DOJ Public Integrity Section.
“Radical Left Democrats have rigged the game for a long time — Remember, until the GREAT Speaker Newt Gingrich, Democrats controlled the House for 40 YEARS in a row, and now, Republicans must fight back for the American People who want and need the Massive Tax and Regulation Cuts, Lower Prices, Strong Borders, Powerful Military, and Safe Cities that Republicans are delivering, and Democrats are fighting against every step of the way. Democrats, if they steal power back, will again give us the Highest Ever Inflation, Sky High Prices, Open Borders, Transgender for Everybody, DEI, and unlimited Violent Crime that they caused and allowed until we came back into Office this year. Republicans must do what is necessary to stop the destruction of our Country by these people who hate America, and are so ungrateful for the opportunities our Nation has given them. Our Country and Democracy is special, and we must do everything we possibly can to defend it from the Far Left infiltrators who want to destroy it. I am glad to hear the Indiana House is stepping up to do the right thing, and I hope the Senate finds the Votes.”
Trump demanding Indiana and other red states gerrymander the Dems out of House seats.
If the comparison of the above pictured presidents were made, based on of deportation numbers (of undocumented US residents during comparable time periods), Trump would not come out on top. If the numbers were based on the number of large-scale dissenting protests, the huge dollar commitment for extra agents, all that negativity would place Donald Trump alone in each of those categories by a long shot. In his first term, Trump followed the focus of his predecessors: deport the criminals. Simply, Trump 2.0 demanded higher numbers. So, as Wendy Selene PĂ©rez, writing for the August 29th Latino News Network points out: Obama’s immigration policies primarily focused on deporting immigrants with criminal charges and those considered national security threats, especially during his final years in office. By contrast, under President Trump, criminal priorities were [quickly] eliminated, categorizing all undocumented individuals as deportable.
“[Our numbers show] that 80% of immigrants taken to detention centers in the first months of Trump’s second term had no criminal record. Yet authorities publicly describe them as ‘the worst of the worst.’ Additionally, detentions of immigrants without crimes rose from 1,048 in January 2025 to 11,972 in June 2025.” How about the economic impact? Did we need those non-violent deportees to leave? What do we have to show for it? Crops rotting in the fields? Childcare and construction costs soaring or simply stopping? Tax revenues lost? Unpleasant tasks – from working in slaughterhouses to stoop labor and ditch-digging where heavy equipment will not fit – simply not done. Citizens don’t want those jobs. And yet the most recent and revised jobs numbers suggest that leading economic indicator is not leading us upwards.
The only Trump economic win is a rising but teetering stock market where 80% of the recent appreciation is attributed to job-killing artificial intelligence, with zero guardrails, a condition that is championed by the billionaire tech bros… and their highly conflicted designated leader, Donald John Trump. Bubble , bubble toil and trouble… most experts expect a big fall.
And while the new “Trump” White House ballroom is funded by “donors” seeking favorable federal review for their deals and perhaps, a tariff waiver or governmental contract or two – some call those “bribes” or merely the cost of staying in business. As for that extravagant and clearly unnecessary “ballroom,” Trump’s architect, James McCrery II, seems to have warned the president that such a massive building (90,000 square feet) would dwarf the White House, which is only 55,000 square feet. Architect’s rendering above. Unnecessary opulence as medical premiums for many Americans are about to double, and most consumer retail costs are way up?
But if you are rich and powerful or a significant Trump supporter, beyond the multi-trillion-dollar, deficit busting tax cut for the rich in the recent Big Beautiful Bill, and you are not a member of the recent rich “donor” club, there are a few other benefits you can count on… Pardons for you or your family. “President Donald Trump has granted clemency to more than 1,600 people this year [including the felons who attacked the While House on 1/6/21]… The list includes several notable businesspeople, including billionaire Changpeng Zhao and Nikola founder Trevor Milton… Many of those pardoned have supported Trump or his policies.” Madeline Berg, writing for November 26th Newsbreak.com.
And if you are foreign government seeking solid relationships with the Trump administration or, perhaps more importantly, the Trump family investment cartel, you might consider a simple “gift” to Trump or the Trump “library.” “Two Swiss lawmakers have asked prosecutors to investigate whether generous gifts given to President Donald Trump by Swiss business leaders violated anti-bribery laws… The gifts, including a gold bar and a Rolex table clock, were handed over during a White House meeting that came about a week before the Trump administration cut tariffs on Swiss goods… Trump has not been accused of wrongdoing, and a source close to the Swiss delegation that visited the Oval Office told Newsweek that the gifts were given to the presidential library, which is permitted under U.S. ethics rules.” Alia Shoaib, writing for November 28th Newsweek.
Indeed, as the give-it-to-the-library trick was held to be legal by the DOJ, the gift of a $400M “Boeing 747-8 jet from the Persian Gulf emirate of Qatar to replace the aging Air Force One aircrafts currently used by the president [was OK]… But the proposed gift has raised a maelstrom of legal questions from Democrats, who say the gift would need the approval of Congress or would otherwise be a violation of the Constitution… Trump said it would be ‘stupid’ not to take the gift, which the administration has said would be accepted by the Department of Defense and later donated to Trump’s presidential library after he leaves office.” Alan Jaffe for the May 14th FactCheck.org.
And pretending that since his name is not listed on any ballot, the midterms are not a vetting of his leadership, Trump still knows that without his rigging the midterms (see his quote above), the likelihood of his completing his second half of his last term of office (no matter what the wants to happen) as anything but a lame duck president is extremely low. His limited approval plunging, still, has moved Trump back to desperate.
I’m Peter Dekom, and I waver between feeling bad for most Trump voters (and everyone else) and remembering that they voted for him.
