Did Donald Trump Knowingly Appoint an Individual with Questionable Mental Capacity to Lead DOGE?
PETER ON THE WRITERS’ HANGOUT PODCAST!
“I would just tend to take things very literally … but then that turned out to be wrong — [people were not] simply saying exactly what they mean, there's all sorts of other things that are meant, and [it] took me a while to figure that out.”
Elon Musk recalling how Aspergers impacted his growing up.
As Elon Musk has openly admitted that he has Aspergers Syndrome, what exactly is that, and how might it impact his ability to implement his DOGE supervision, if relevant? According to HealthGrades.com, “Asperger’s syndrome used to be a unique diagnosis. Now, clinicians consider it part of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Those who clinicians used to diagnose with Asperger’s syndrome may now receive a diagnosis of ASD. Symptoms of ASD can vary significantly, with clinical signs of autism in adults including differences in communication and socialization…
“Common symptoms of ASD in adults can include:
- having difficulty understanding what others may be thinking or feeling
- feeling very anxious about social situations
- having difficulty making friends
- preferring to be on your own
- having difficulty expressing or saying how you are feeling
- understanding things very literally or having difficulty understanding sarcasm or idioms
- preferring to have the same routine every day and feeling anxious if the routine gets disrupted
- having difficulty engaging with others…
- repetitive behaviors
- focused or very specific interests
- hyperactive, impulsive, or inattentive behaviors
- epilepsy or another seizure disorder
- particular eating or sleeping habits
- gastrointestinal issues
- anxiety, stress, or worry
- a lack of fear or more fear than expected
- unique mood or emotional reactions
- being more or less sensitive than others to certain sensory stimuli, such as light, sound, textures, or temperature
- sleep problems
- irritability
I have presented this in a separate blog, because whatever underlies a cheese-head, chainsaw-wielding billionaire, whose mercurial management style is legendary, the above elements should be examined in detail as they may apply to Mr Musk. Aspergers, even more extreme versions of ASD, do not prevent sheer, usually highly narrow-focused brilliance (like Musk’s engineering skills), but the impact on interpersonal abilities, which clearly includes management style, just might make Mr Musk dramatically unqualified to lead the DOGE slash and burn mandate. Remember when Musk stated that he could slashing $2 trillion from the federal budget, a number which he subsequently dropped to $1 trillion… and in an early April cabinet meeting, he further reduced to $150 billion. Yet the United States Office of Management and Budget has indicated that notwithstanding all the firings and agency closures, the federal budget is still actually rising.
Musk himself has admitted or obviously acted out many of the above ASD symptoms. Musk has run roughshod over individual rights, scoffed at Civil Service laws, has not evidenced a sliver of sensitivity to the persons whom he has fired, or the social program beneficiaries who are being pressured out of their lawful, fully vested benefits. Musk’s exceptionally well-paid minions, many of whom could not pass an FBI background check, seem to have altered the functionality of existing government computer systems (resulting in newfound glitches, failures and errors), often releasing mega data uploads of statutorily protected personal information (from tax data, health, income, etc.) from Americans onto unsecure platforms (including his Starlink satellite Internet network).
As recent scandals suggest – for example, based on information leaked by a whistleblower DOGE employee purportedly tracing personal data extracted from files at the National Labor Relations Board to focused sites in Russia – so much of the privacy guaranteed by federal agencies (e.g., the IRS) that personal information would not be released to other federal agencies… is gone, gone, gone. Undocumented aliens, paying taxes on their earnings, were specifically told by the IRS, that their filing information would not be shared with ICE or Homeland Security. This was to encourage them to pay money into the federal system. That promise was fully breached, as IRS information flowed exactly where it was pledged not to flow. Ask yourself exactly how much of that data is now in Musk’s own treasure trove of personal information that he can use in growing his business empire?
I’m Peter Dekom, and after you have read the above list of possible symptoms of Aspergers, does Musk’s billionaire status make the slightest difference in what I believe is the total lack of his having the very management and leadership qualities that would have been essential to helm DOGE?
